Friends
Proverbs 17:17  A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Eccesiastes 4:9-10  Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

It has often been said that we will become like the people that we hang around.  Our choice of friends is very important.  The right friend can inspire us to do more and be more in life.  The right friend will point out when we go astray, and help us get back on track.  A good friend can make us feel secure when we are unsure of ourselves.   Where can you find a friend who wants to do right? As teenagers, many have found that friend in their youth group.  Many have made friendships that will last a lifetime!   Come be a part of a group of teenagers who are trying to live in a way that honors God.

Faith

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

“What is faith?” you might ask.  Other people talk about faith, but perhaps, you feel like you have never experienced that on your own.  It may seem as if you have more questions than answers.  That is perfectly normal.  You are not weird or faithless because you have had doubts or questions about God.  Everyone has had questions or doubts about God at some point in his life.

If you believe in God, you have experienced faith.  Faith is believing in something that you cannot see.  Every week our teen group meets together to learn more about God and to strengthen our faith in Him.  Many of our teens have seen God answer their prayers and do a work in their lives.  They have seen their faith grow as they get to know God better, and learn to love Him more!

Fun

John 15:11  These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

We want the young people who attend Grace Baptist Church to enjoy their teen years.  We host a variety of activities such as: paintball, jumping at DEFY, scavenger hunts, bowling, attending sporting events and youth rallies.  Christ does not intend for Christians to go through life without joy.  People were drawn to Christ throughout His ministry.  In John 15:11, we see one of the reasons that people were drawn to Jesus was that He had joy.  We want to provide an avenue of fun and/or joy that our teens will not regret.

Every Wednesday evening we have a Bible study specifically for teenagers.  This is a “hands-on” interactive study!  We are teaching our young people not only what the Bible teaches, but helping them to find the basis of truth contained in the Scriptures.  Each week they divide into small study groups and search out the doctrines of the Bible for themselves in peer led discussions.

Part of ministering to teens is keeping them excited about church.  That is why we attempt to balance the serious preparation for life with activities that are just fun.  We want them to understand that the Christian life is full of joy and blessings when lived in the bounds of eternal truth.  Past activities include: bowling, cook-outs, bon fires, paint ball, whitewater rafting, scavenger hunts, etc.  Also, throughout the summer months we have workshops to teach the girls to cook, sew, and develop their spiritual gifts and we have taught the guys how to use different power tools on various projects as well as practical tasks like changing a car tire.  It is our hope that God will use us a resource for parents and a godly influence to our teens.

Each summer we have a Vacation Bible School and a “Teen Event” as well as teen camp for young people ages 13-18.    Please check the church calendar for exact dates.  For more information concerning these special events,
